Johan Bülow, born into an entrepreneurial family, set out to transform licorice, a Scandinavian favorite, into a gourmet experience. In 2007, he opened his first shop in Svaneke, cooking licorice on-site and selling out within hours. He soon scaled production and created iconic varieties like NO.1 through NO.4. Johan then introduced chocolate-coated licorice, starting with A - THE ORIGINAL: a sweet, gluten-free licorice core wrapped in milk chocolate and rolled in licorice powder. Today, Lakrids by Johan Bülow continues to make the world love licorice, one piece at a time!
